DVM Manager Technology

Technology plays an important role in DVM Manager's products and services offerings.  We have long been a market technology leader, and are continuing that tradition today.  Here are just some of the technologies that DVM Manager takes advantage of:

Wireless Connectivity  •  DVM Manager fully supports operating in a wireless environment.  We offer complete wireless support in our pre-configured systems as well, and have implemented wireless connectivity in numerous practices, so we have the experience and expertise to recommend the best wireless solution to fit your needs.

Tablet PC  •  DVM Manager is fully compliant with Tablet PCs.  Tablet PCs offer many unique advantages, such as built-in wireless connectivity, advanced handwriting technology, lightweight portability and much much more.  DVM Manager has designed several features specifically for Tablet PC, including the ability to attach mail merge documents to patient records in Windows Journal format which allows you to write on the document, as well as what we call Circle Sheet Invoicing, which allows you to invoice from a circle sheet by simply tapping the Tablet PC pen on the items you want to invoice and then tapping on Submit Invoice.

Image Scanners  •  Image scanners have been around for quite some time, but they are still very valuable for scanning documents or images that you may want to attach to patient records.  Any sort of document or image can be attached to DVM Manager patient records.  DVM Manager even supports the use of a common 'drop folder' where you can simply save your scanned documents or images using a particular file name format and DVM Manager will automatically attach the document or image to the appropriate patient record.

Digital Cameras  •  Digital cameras are often times more valuable for image capture than image scanners.  Many practices use digital cameras to take photos of their patients and attach them to DVM Manager patient records.  You can even define an ID photo in DVM Manager that you can opt to have print out on receipts and reminder cards.

Microsoft SQL Server  •  DVM Manager is built on the most solid consumer database engine available today - Microsoft SQL Server.  Microsoft SQL Server comes in several forms, including Enterprise Edition for large server-based environments and the free version called Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE), which is ideal for smaller (5 or fewer workstations) practices.  Both versions offer the same stability and flexibility.  DVM Manager is also compatible with both SQL Server version 7.0 and SQL Server 2000, so if you have an existing SQL Server 7.0 license you do not need to purchase a new SQL Server version to be compatible with DVM Manager.

Windows Terminal Services  •  Microsoft's Windows Terminal Services environment is a feature of their server operating systems (Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003).  Terminal Services allows you to run all applications on the server, which means that your terminals (workstations) do not have to have the applications you use installed on them, nor do they have to meet any particular hardware requirements.  You can even use what are called thin clients as opposed to regular PCs (fat clients) to cut initial expense and ongoing maintenance costs.  DVM Manager has been designed to work seamlessly in a terminal services environment.  Check out our pre-configured systems that are available directly from DVM Manager with Terminal Services configured for you!
